ORE & OATH / COLLECTION 001
COLLECTION 001 | FIRST MATTER
Before an object becomes itself, there is material.
Metal before form. Form before meaning. Meaning before memory.
First Matter is the opening collection from ORE & OATH—a study in transformation, geometry, thresholds, repetition, and the structures that emerge when material is given intention.
Each piece begins with a distinct idea.
Axis considers balance and orientation. Passage explores movement through and between forms. Ascension follows the impulse toward change. Self-Intersection considers forms that cross, return, and become something different through contact with themselves. Threshold examines the boundary between one state and another.
The names are coordinates, not instructions.
Each object is developed through proportion, weight, construction, surface, and wear. Forms are refined at the bench until the idea and the material reach the same place.
The collection begins in sterling silver—a metal that records its own history. Bright surfaces soften. Recesses darken. Edges change through contact. What begins as a finished object continues to evolve with its wearer.
First Matter is not built around a single symbol or prescribed meaning.
It is about the moment before meaning becomes fixed.
The rest belongs to the wearer.
